John Feeley, the commissioner for the single member district, will present an update on liquor license issues, zoning variance matters and crime issues. The meeting will also offer opportunities for residents to voice specific concerns impacting the district.
(District 5A06 is bounded by the railroad tracks on the west, 14th Street on the east, the south side of Taylor Street on the north, and the north side of Otis Street on the south.)

Cardinal's Nest decision
Dear Neighbors: To all who have not heard as of yet: the Liquor Control Board found against the Cardinal's Nest in a May 13 decision. They found the establishment at fault for serving liquor to minors, allowing alcohol to be taken out of the establishment, for violations of the voluntary agreement with the community, noise violations and not displaying the voluntary agreement. The penalty was a $5,000 fine and a 15 consecutive day suspension, from June 17th to July 1, 2009. This is what the assistant attorney general's office was requesting, short of revocation of their license. - John Feeley
